This picture shows the college at Reaseheath in 1935. It was given to me by Sarah Lunt, and shows her sister Mary (G M Walley) in the second row (the 10th person from the left). The female members of staff wore hats, and the dairy students wore white aprons and caps.
Cheshire School of Agriculture's first principal, Wilfred Bernard Mercer, is in the middle of the front row (the 8th person from the left). He was principal for 28 years (from 1919 to 1947). On his right (wearing glasses and a hat) is Nellie Bennion. Miss Bennion taught cheese-making, and had a reputation for being very strict. You can read more about her on the college's website here.
If anyone recognises anyone else, please get in touch.
